Various Artists - Buddha Bar: Vol. IV

Buddha Bar is a distinguished series of CDs that aim at capturing the atmosphere of the fabulous bar on the Place de la Concorde in Paris. As with its predecessors, Volume IV is compiled by David Visan and the two-CD set is divided into "Dinner" and "Drink." The former certainly creates an à propos musical background for the consumption of comestibles or civilized conversations. It is pleasant and polite, never pushing forward and provides a backdrop filled with many exotic touches of world music. "Drink" is less afraid of imposing itself, with more upbeat and danceable tracks that take you on a sound adventure that blends Salsa, Gypsies styles along with flavors of Egypt, Morocco and many Asian countries. Only complain about this collection is the high price for a release that only seems to try to equal its predecessors.
