DJ Claude Challe is a musical hero in France for his many successful and innovative music collections, including the immensely popular Buddha Bar series. His latest project Nirvana Lounge unfolds in a similar vein. Packaged in the same beautiful 2 CD digi-book style, the first CD brings a smooth sail of chill out pleasures and the second more upbeat transient lounging music. Nirvana Lounge offers nearly 160 minutes of music but albeit still at the same high price of Challe’s recent series. This collection will transport the listener through all manner of exotic landscapes and straddles continents and cultures in search of musical paradise. With a good mix of Arabic, Hindi and Urdu music, as well as Spanish guitar and other Southern European/African/Latin influences, this collection is definitely slick. A must for those who love their music to take them away to a place of aural pleasure and nirvanesque beats, while untrained ears will give this one a pass.
